Brunsmeer Awareness Football Club run a free weekly women’s football session that is mental health friendly.

Their weekly drop-in sessions are friendly and fun and are for women (they also have a men’s one) who’ve experienced mental health issues, whether you have a diagnosis or not.  They welcome women from all backgrounds and all levels of fitness and ability, whether you’ve played in the past or the game is new to you.

All you need to wear is active wear e.g. tracksuit bottoms, jumper, t-shirt and trainers and please don’t forget to bring a water bottle.  Led by Brunsmeer Awareness FC, Sheffield Flourish and Sheffield United Community Foundation female coaches.

The Brunsmeer Awareness FC women’s session is on a Wednesday evening at Goodwin Sports Centre, 7pm – 8pm.

They run two sessions every week: one for men and one for women.

Sessions include a kick about and skills training, and they have encouraged some of their members to start working towards a Level 1 Coaching Certificate.

Please note: events may not be running on bank holidays and over the Christmas period. Please double check with the organiser (before attending) if you are unsure.
