Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is 130 acre working farm that provides a wealth of activities for disabled, disadvantaged, and inner city children and adults. The trust hosts schools and groups on day and residential visits and have an on-site residential farmhouse and a barn residential centre. The Trust provides employment for people with learning disabilities and has a variety of fundraising events including an annual Farm Fayre. Throughout the school holidays Whirlow Hall Farm Trust provides a wide range of activities and programmes which can be found here.
There is also a farm shop that sells home grown produce and a cafe, both open from Wednesday – Sunday, 10am-4.30pm.
Supported Placements
The trust offer a supportive environment for adults (16+) with a Health & Social Care budget who would like to develop a variety of life skills on a diverse working farm. You can get involved in real farming activities and experience the countryside. They welcome those with learning difficulties, disabilities and mental health issues.
Sessions are tailored by their team of tutors and you can work towards achieving specific care and life-plan targets. Learning is interactive and hands-on activities develop teamwork skills and confidence. There is also provision for those in primary and secondary education who have additional or specific needs.
Volunteering opportunities are also available.
