South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA) is a charitable organisation providing homes and support across the region. They currently own and manage over 6000 homes and offer specific housing projects aimed at people with varying support needs.

In order to find a home to rent through SYHA, you need to first register with the local authority you’d like to live in. SYHA do provide some housing that can be directly rented from them but these homes are available on a first come first served basis.

SYHA provide a wellbeing service that support people to live well and feel settled in their homes. They offer different services depending on your needs but all are designed to help people look after their physical and mental health and access opportunities in their local community.

Over 50’s

SYHA offer different kinds of support to help people over 50 keep their independence, do things they love and feel safe and connected.

Mental Health Services

SYHA offer different levels of mental health support, whether that’s in your own home or through supported accommodation.

Learning Disabilities

At Oak Close in Wath, SYHA are able to offer flexible and personalised support to enable people to live as independently as possible.

Through the Living Well partnership SYHA also work closely with SHSC so that local people who live in any kind of SYHA housing can access services within the safety and security of their own homes.

Homelessness

If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, in the first instance, it’s important to contact the local authority you are within. SYHA provide specific services dependent on your circumstances

Employment

SYHA run the Good Work and Building Better Opportunities (BBO) projects that are designed to support SYHA customers to find employment opportunities that are nurturing and supportive. BBO work with employers to recruit and retain candidates who have disabilities and health conditions as well as offering specialist training and advice on workplace health and wellbeing.
