Sheffield Community Transport provides a range of transport related services for people who have difficulties using public transport. Many of their vehicles are fully accessible for people with physical disabilities.
They provide the following:
Community Transport for individuals and groups – they provide a range of Door 2 Door transport services designed particularly for people who find public transport difficult or impossible to use.
Travel Buddy Service – to help people build confidence and gain independence. A travel buddy will meet you at home or a place of someone’s choice and accompany you to a chosen destination. This is available 7 days per week, including evenings and is available to anyone that is over the age of 16.
Local bus services – they provide a number of routes across Sheffield using low-floor, accessible minibuses.
Transport Training – they provide various training courses realted to public transport vehicles.
South Yorkshire Wheels 2 Work scheme – provide the loan of a scooter to people who live in South Yorkshire and have difficulty getting to work, training or college due to a lack of suitable public transport.
Volunteering – they provide a range of volunteering opportunities
