The Alcohol Service provided by the Sheffield Treatment and Recovery Team offers free support to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Sheffield.

They can give you information, advice, support and treatment to help you make changes to your drinking and begin your recovery journey. They can also provide and support if you are affected by someone else’s drinking.

The Alcohol Service is able to see people who have been referred within 7 days. When you’re first referred the service will carry out an assessment which will include considering your physical health, wider social situation and the impact your drinking might be having on your life, and agree a plan for how to proceed with your care. This might include talking therapies, care from the medical and nursing teams, peer support groups and employment support specialists.

Whatever support you access you’ll move at a pace you are comfortable with and the service will make sure you have everything you need during your recovery journey.

You can make a referral by ringing 0114 305 0500, emailing sct-ctr.fitzwilliamcentrereferrals@nhs.net or dropping in. You don’t need an appointment. The Alcohol Service also accept referrals from any professional you are involved with, such as GPs, social workers, pharmacists or probation workers.
