Sheffield Adult Autism and Neurodevelopmental Service (SAANS) is a national service offering an out-patient assessment clinic for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, along with assessments for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). The clinic primarily provides assessment and diagnosis. A post-diagnostic follow-up appointment is offered if a diagnosis of autism is made.
The service is also able to provide some time limited interventions from psychology, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy as well as psycho-educational groups.
National clients may also be able to access specialist counselling subject to funding.
Referrals are accepted from both primary and secondary care teams. You cannot self refer to this service.
