SAYiT is a local charity that work with young people from 12-25 who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning+), offering, support, practical advice and social opportunities.

Currently SAYiT run three groups. Young people can self-refer, or they can be referred by someone else. This can be a parent or carer, a teacher at your school or college, or a professional, such as a youth worker, social worker, MAST or CAHMS worker.

SAYiT Fruitbowl – Younger LGBT+ or questioning group for those who are aged 11, 12, 13, 14. They meet on Thursday evenings from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.

SAYiT Fruitbowl – Older LGBT+ or questioning group for those who are aged 15, 16 or 17. They meet on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

Each week there is the opportunity for the group members of older and younger Fruitbowl to meet each other with the team leaders which can ease the transition as the young people approach 15 years old.

SAYiT Prism

LGBT+ or questioning group for those who are aged 18 -25. Currently, the group meet monthly on a Wednesday evening from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in Sheffield City Centre. All SAYiT young people can also attend one to one sessions with a SAYiT youth worker.

LGBTQ+ Domestic Violence – Call It Out

SAYiT are running a year-long project called Call It Out. The project is aiming to improve access to domestic abuse services for LGBT+ people across South Yorkshire. For more information, click here.

Counselling

SAYiT run the Noah Lomax fund. Young people who access SAYiT services can now swiftly access LGBTQ+ affirmative counselling, therapy and funds to help them if in hardship. Young people can talk to the SAYiT youth workers about accessing the fund.

For Professionals
