The Samaritans are a helpline available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year to provide emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who are experiencing suicidal thoughts or urges. They are open to anyone regardless of who you are or what you are experiencing. You can call 116 123 (free from any phone) or 0330 094 5717 (local call charges apply) to speak with them.

You can also write an email to the Samaritans if you prefer to write things down. Their response time for emails is 24 hours. Email: jo@samartians.org

If you would like to talk to someone in person you can go to the Sheffield branch which is open from 10am until 8pm every day of the year. The address is 272 Queens Road, Sheffield, S2 4DL.
