The Neurological Enablement Service (NES) is a specialist community team providing support to people aged 16+ with a long-term neurological condition. They must be registered with a GP in Sheffield.
Conditions they support include: MS, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy and other neuro-muscular conditions. Their aim is to help people to lead as full and independent a life as possible within their homes and communities. They achieve this through ongoing support, facilitating adaptions, teaching new skills and confidence.
The team includes:
- Physiotherapists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Specialist Assistive Technologists
- Clinical Psychologists
- Therapy Assistants
- Administrators
The team work with people directly in their homes, the community, place of work or study or in local leisure facilities.
You can self-refer to this service or be referred by a health or social care professional. Referrals are via the Referral Point Unit or by downloading and completing the online form on their website. This must be returned to sct-ctr.ltnc@nhs.net.
