Haven is a local organisation who support children affected by domestic abuse. They provide children and young people with support and care through the provision of services and education.
Consent must be obtained from the child’s parent or other significant adult before referring into their services.
Services available include:
- CandYP Project: Provides one-to-one sessions facilitated by trained workers. They allow children (5 -16) and their mums (or other significant adults) to communicate together about abuse that has happened in their lives. W: www.havenorg.uk/candyp
- Bouncing Back Group:Â This group takes place over 8 weeks. It aims to support children aged 11-16 to understand more about abuse and to share their feelings and experiences with others who have been in similar circumstances. W: www.havenorg.uk/group-support
- Helping Hands: This is an 8 week group work programme run by Haven in primary schools to benefit children aged 7-11. It’s a preventative education programme to help children think about their feelings and to learn how to keep themselves safe. W: www.havenorg.uk/group-support
- Training: Their team have developed a range of bespoke training, support packages and group programmes to help anyone working with children, young people and their wider families. We also provide packages for individuals. W: www.havenorg.uk/training
