Emmaus Sheffield is a community that supports formerly homeless and socially excluded people. The community is based in a former cutlery factory that is close to Sheffield city centre.
Their mission is to work together to overcome homelessness and social exclusion and they do this through running a second hand goods and furniture shop where those who are part of a community can take stock of their lives, deal with any issues they might have, re-establish or make new relationships, and find a sense of purpose or belonging.
The revenue from the social enterprise shop pays for companions’ home, food and upkeep, as well as providing a small weekly allowance. For information about how to join the community and referrals click here.
