b:Friend is a befriending service for older adults experiencing social isolation and loneliness in South Yorkshire.

b:Friend recruits volunteer befrienders who pledge to visit a socially isolated older neighbour near them for one hour per week. They pair individuals primarily based on location and personal interests. Each befriender and older neighbour receive regular support to ensure they’re benefitting from the project.

You can refer an older adult to b:Friend using their online form.

You can volunteer by using their interactive map to find older adults near you who would like a befriender.

Covid update 29/04/21: Most services continue under covid-safe conditions but may be experiencing changes to how or when they deliver their service. Contact b:Friend directly for the latest information.
