Beat is the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders and those who care about them.
They have lots of information and advice on their website about types of eating disorders, recovery, how to support someone and get support for yourself as well campaigning to increase knowledge, awareness and understanding across the UK. You can watch Beat’s BBC Lifeline Appeal to find out more about Beat’s work and the importance of getting help.
Beat also provide training and CPD services for those who may work with people who have an eating disorder in a variety of different settings.
Support Services
Beat offer a wide range of support and resources for those who have an eating disorder, are worried they have an eating disorder as well as others concerned, like friends and family members.

The helplines are open 365 days a year from 12pm–8pm during the week, and 4pm–8pm on weekends and bank holidays.
You can also use Beat’s 1:1 Web Chat function, their message boards or online support groups.
Beat also run an online directory of eating disorder services which includes lots of free downloadable resources, a treatment guide and information about therapists, private clinics and support groups across the country.
