Key Information
- In person & remote
Wild at Heart is a project delivered by Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust. We run friendly, supportive nature-based activity sessions for adults with the aim of exploring our local green spaces to use the natural world to help boost wellbeing and develop personal resilience, through building a connection with nature and other people in the local community.
Covid-19 Update
During the Covid-19 pandemic we have moved our weekly face-to-face activity groups at Longley 4 Greens, Clifton Park, and Brinsworth Community Centre into digital and distance-engagement avenues to stay connected and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation:
Â
Nature Activity Packs
We have been sending out Nature Activity Packs for Adults which include nature spotter sheets, tips on finding wellbeing through nature, seasonal recipes, quizzes, and simple arts and crafts activities. These are available to download from our Wild at Heart at Home webpage. For more activities to browse and try out at home, you can explore our Wild at Heart Resources webpage.
Nature Chats
We have also been having regular phone calls with our participants and people referred through Rotherham Social Prescribing Service to provide support and nature connection ideas.Â
Wild at Heart at Home
We have produced a series of ‘Keeping in Touch’ videos during lockdown to provide simple, seasonal nature connection activities you can do at home to stay connected and boost your wellbeing, following the sorts of activities we would have been doing in our face-to-face sessions. You can check these out on our Wild at Heart at Home webpage, or on the Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust – Wild at Heart YouTube playlist.
