Sporting Memories is a national charity supporting adults over 50 in England and Wales by bringing them together to talk about and remember sport. Many of the people they support experience dementia, depression and loneliness. Their sessions are proven to help build cognitive resilience.

Using images of sport and memorabilia, older people are assisted to stay connected to their friends and communities, cognitively stimulated and physically active. Their groups are volunteer led and intergenerational.

In Sheffield, there are two Sporting Memories Clubs:

Ecclesall Library Group is every Wednesday from 10:30am – 12:00.

Crystal Peaks Library Group is every Thursday from 10:30am  – 12:00.

For more information about either group, email sandra.goacher@sheffield.gov.uk, or call 0114 293 0615.

Covid update 23/02/21: Most services continue under covid-safe conditions but may be experiencing changes to how or when they deliver their service. Contact Sporting Memories directly for the latest information.
