Reach South Sheffield is a local charity supporting the social, environmental and economic regeneration of south Sheffield (primarily in the communities of Gleadless Valley, Lowedges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe).

They work with people facing significant barriers to gaining qualifications and training, securing employment and living a lifestyle that supports physical and mental wellbeing. Reach work closely with them to help overcome these inequalities by supporting them to build confidence and resilience, so that they can make positive changes for themselves, their families and their communities.

They support a range of projects around:

  • Health and Wellbeing: They coordinate a wide range of activities, services and projects which will improve the physical and mental wellbeing of adults and young people living in south Sheffield. These include the Fitbus Service, Health Practitioner Service, Live Better – Get Connected, Grow Your Own, Lunch Club and support for young people.
  • Employment and Skills: Their ‘Pathways to Success’ project supports adults who are unemployed, economically inactive and have multiple, significant and often complex barriers to employment, particularly those with physical or mental health problems, disabilities or behavioural issues. T: 0114 2394888 or E: admin@gvcf.org.uk
  • Community Learning: Run a range of courses at venues across the area. They offer accredited courses in English, maths and IT, and a range of non-accredited leisure courses, including yoga, creative crafting and cooking. Some courses also include free childcare.
